
Founded by Toshio Iue (1902–1969) in 1950, Sanyo was a Japanese major electronics company, is now a subsidiary of Panasonic.
Toshio Iue was the brother-in-law of Konosuke Matsushita and also a former Matsushita employee.
The company’s name means three oceans in Japanese, referring to sell their products worldwide, across the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian oceans.
