
The Woolmark logo was born in 1964, designed by Italian graphic designer Francesco Saroglia. Its five black bands criss-crossing to form a skein – represents the softness, elegance and purity of wool.
The Woolmark brand was owned originally by the International Wool Secretariat (IWS) founded in 1937, is now owned by Australian Wool Innovation Limited (AWI) since 2001.
