
Chevron is an American multinational energy corporation, is one of the world’s six “supermajor” oil companies.
The former Chevron can be traced back to the founding Star Oil in Los Angeles in 1876 and Texas Fuel Company in Beaumont in 1901.
The Chevron name used from 1930s after the partition of Standard Oil, Standard Oil Co. of California (SOCAL) become part of the “Seven Sisters”, and change its legal name to Chevron Corporation in 1984.
